SIV is a newly established developer of green and affordable housing and social infrastructure solutions.
Leveraging the successful incubation and scale-up expertise of CD and SIV’s management’s track-record, SIV seeks to help address the growing affordable housing gap.
Because of affordability constraints, rental markets will play a formidable role in promoting decent housing in Africa, especially for low-income earners, youth, migrants and women. Not much data is available on the - mostly informal -rental market.
SIV has vertically integrated the rental platform business with 3 core capabilities: SIV DevCo, SIV RentCo and SIV ManCos. Our integrated rental platform, encompassing development, property and investment management adds value for our investors and other stakeholders because it is an essential enabler in delivering and managing rental housing at scale.
SIV’s will build small-scale (human-sized) communities in or near urban centres in secondary cities in Africa (Tier II cities), where, according to the World Bank, 40% of the world city population lives.
SIV will develop such small scale projects in or near city centres as to:
(i) facilitate community development,
(ii) mitigate the risk of ghetto formation,
(iii) leverage, enhance and optimise existing municipal infrastructure, and
(iv) reduce implementation risk.
